Since Christmas Day falls on a Saturday this year, Monday 27 December and Tuesday 28 December are designated as public holidays. As a consequence employees in many organizations may be wondering what pay rates will apply if they are required to work during this period, and employers need to be clear in communicating which days may qualify for "premium rate" treatment, and the reasons why.
